In the Division Reinsurance Controlling (RIC), the responsibilities of controlling and management reporting are bundled together to ensure a uniform controlling process. RIC advises the Reinsurance Committee (RVA), RI-CEO and the RI-CFO in respect of the current economics of the Reinsurance Segment and proper allocation of resources.
The Global Expense Controlling and Analytics team acts as the Global Process Owner for expenses and is responsible for budgeting and cost allocation processes. The team is in charge of providing all relevant information and analytics to senior management, especially the Reinsurance Committee and the Reinsurance CFO, to steer the expense base in the business field reinsurance (outside IT). This especially includes the management of the annual expense planning and monitoring processes as well as various ad hoc analysis and presentations. Due to the numerous interfaces involving the division and its involvement in the financial statements, the unit provides an excellent overview of current projects and reporting processes.
We are looking for a highly motivated and committed colleague that supports the head of section especially in providing cross-functional analysis and presentations in context of ad-hoc requests, the preparation of board/strategy meetings or the annual planning.
YOUR JOB
Lead cross-divisional cost development and profitability analysis/projects from a conceptual and data perspective in close cooperation with RIC senior managementCreate structured and compelling presentations on various cost topics and projects for board and senior executive meetings/communication Pro-actively screen the reinsurance segment’s cost base for trends and developments that shall be translated into steering impulses from RIC – in this context collaborate proactively with other RIC departments and senior managementCoordinate and conduct cost and staff planning, preparing quarterly reports and supporting the areas managed with cost controlling throughout the year including close collaboration with the supported business area and business area controllersSupport with the further automation and digitalisation of interfaces and processes to further boost the efficiency of cost controlling
YOUR PROFILE
University degree with above-average classification in economics, business administration or comparable subject Very strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills proven by a multi-year experience in consulting, strategy development and/or a comparable profession Experience in controlling, ideally in the primary insurance or reinsurance businessExcellent communication skills and high ability to work in a project-oriented, flexible work environment Strong ability to work with high volume of numbers and attention to detail High levels of motivation and above-average commitment with a strong client and service focusVery good command of EnglishVery strong knowledge of Excel and PowerpointIdeally, knowledge of SAP-CO, GT, ECON and BO, strong affinity for IT
