We are actively seeking a Sr. Engineering Technician to join our team of dedicated professionals in Harrisburg, PA. Responsibilities include construction observation, serving as a construction inspector while inspecting a wide range of infrastructure in land development and capital improvement projects. The role also involves assisting with specification development, constructability reviews, cost opinions, preparing construction documents, ensuring code compliance, and construction administration/management of Municipal & Water Resources projects. Additional responsibilities and expectations of this role will include but is not limited to:
Administer construction contracts with Contractors and Project OwnersPreparation of technical specifications, bidding documents and contract documentsPrepare quantity take-offs, construction cost opinions and construction duration opinionsProvide technical reviews of contract drawings and specifications for constructability and compliance with current construction standardsCoordination and review of shop drawings and contractor submittalsReviews claims, change orders, payment applications, work change directives, and field orders for approval by Project Manager/ClientObserve and document construction projects/facility operations for contract complianceProvides support and technical expertise to engineering design staffParticipate in preliminary and final design of in-house engineering projectsReview subdivision and land development plans for municipal code complianceConduct field studies, site reconnaissance, and assessmentsPrepare civil engineering documentation and regulatory permit applicationsUtilize technical standards (e.g., PENNDOT Pubs and ASTM manuals) Requirements High school diploma or GED required10+ years of experience in civil design and/or construction activitiesExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is an advantageSEO and/or NICET certification is desired, but is not mandatoryExperience with managing multiple construction projects, development and maintenance of construction administration/contract documents and procedures, budgeting and proposal preparation, etc.Effective utilization of common business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting tools, project management systems, etc.Must maintain a valid driver’s license as this position requires travel to client sites, conferences, meetings, and other HRG offices as necessary; including limited overnight travel Has the legal right to work in the U.S.
