Senior Construction Project Manager

In the role of Senior Construction Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

· Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams during construction of heavy civil construction in the transportation or railroad industry

· Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies, conflicts, or constructability issues

· Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff.

· Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.

· Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.

· Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders.

· Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule.

· Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule.

· Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.

· Implement QA/QC procedures.

· Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers; including managing training of staff

· Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

· Master's degree

· PMP certification

· Experience with heavy civil construction in the transportation or railroad industry.

· Experience supervising direct reports and managing a team of people, supervisor training.

· Experience with MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Project, Other scheduling software.

· Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.

Physical Expectations/Requirements:

· Must be able inspect any work on site without any physical assistance (such as ladders, man-lifts, underground structures, traverse uneven and irregular surfaces) except that which would normally be provided by the contractor’s personnel.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

· Must be able to effectively communicate in person, by telephone and email.

· Must be able to effectively work in minimally supervised and/or unsupervised environments.

· Work hours other than 8 to 5 which may include weekends and/or night shifts

· Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License.

· Travel may be required at times.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering10 years related experienceA minimum 5 years project management experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseMS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
