Senior Construction Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. You will work with the Vice President of Construction and the Real Estate Development Team to organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

An excellent Construction Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. In addition, the successful candidate should have experience in Commercial project management and residential development.  This role will also work with the Real Estate and Construction Division to plan, permit and develop project types ranging from Commercial fueling projects, existing and new hotel sites, multifamily sites, to commercial trucking sites.

The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to the project specific requirements and within the project budget.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders to determine the specifications of the projectNegotiate contracts with external vendorsObtain permits and licenses from appropriate authoritiesDetermine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitationsPlan and execute construction operations to ensure deadlines will be metAcquire equipment and material on a project basisHire contractors and allocate responsibilities for assigned projectsEvaluate progress and prepare detailed reports to keep stakeholders informedEnsure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues

Requirements and skills

Minimum 15 years of proven experience as construction project manager with demonstrated increasing experience and responsibilitiesIn-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principlesFamiliarity with quality and health and safety standardsProficient in MS OfficeExcellent with construction/ project management softwareOutstanding communication and negotiation skillsExcellent organizational and time-management skillsA team player with leadership abilitiesBSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field experience
