Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Construction Manager to join our Wastewater Systems team in Los Angeles! In this role you will get to lead a team of professionals to provide construction management services on large-scale water and wastewater projects or programs in Southern California.
The Senior Construction Manager provides planning, staffing, coordination, and direction for construction management services to meet contractual requirements and confer with contractors regarding compliance with plans and specifications, contract terms and conditions, and quality of work from initial project identification through startup and construction closeout. May hire, assign, and supervise resident engineers, inspectors, and other assigned staff. The Senior Construction Manager also supports business development activities to grow the practice.

What You'll Be Doing:
Collaborate with business development to identify, market and secure new projects.You will function as a Company’s representative with clients and select resident engineering, inspection staff, and other resources during execution of a project or program.Plan, direct, supervise, and manage the execution of all technical, manpower resources, fiscal, and administrative functions of assigned projects. Assign responsibility for executing project plans to subordinates and assures compliance.Work with project individuals to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and company management of any such changes.Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and subcontractors. Follow up on contractual requirements and commitments associated with the project. Participate in negotiations with contractors in support of clients.What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Accomplished senior level construction manager/program manager with experience in managing and leading a complex team, including, but not limited to, resident engineering, contract management, project controls, risk management, public outreach/communications, and health and safety management.4-year degree in engineering or construction management-related field (or equivalent construction management-related work experience).A master’s degree in construction engineering or construction management is desirable.Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California or a Certified Construction Manager is preferred.15 to 20 years or more of experience in field construction on public works projects with a solid focus on water and wastewater treatment and conveyance facilities, preferably in California.Demonstrated ability to manage large water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects, including resolution of disputes and mitigation of risks. Experience with large-scale construction management programs is desirable.Experience as a construction manager on at least one complex water or wastewater infrastructure program/project with a construction value of $100 million or more in past 15 years is preferred.Recent construction management experience within past 5 years in construction of water or wastewater facilities using alternative project delivery methods, including Progressive Design-Build (PDB) and Construction Management At Risk (CMAR) is highly desirableWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Ability to foster a close working relationship with clients and project stakeholders in a public works environment.Experience in auditing large complex construction projects for compliance to program procedures and requirements is desirable.OSHA advanced safety training certification.Ability to be stationed in a field office setting at or near a project site for at least 2-day per week or full-time based on the contract requirements.This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
