SENIOR CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (NSWC)

 

Bowhead seeks a Sr. Configuration Managment Specialist to support the NIWC Atlantic Marine Corps Intel project located in Charleston, SC. This project will accomplish material and system readiness from acquisition to fielding and sustainment support which includes material procurement, documenting system hardware and software baselines, new equipment fielding, transportability assessments, reliability and sustainability engineering support to both new and legacy systems, technical writing, and supply support.

Responsibilities Provide support in all logistics activities including preparation of program documents as required for Milestone Decisions (i.e., Life Cycle Sustainment Plans, ILS certifications, etc.), Fielding and New Equipment Training provisioning, support equipment and tools, technical manual development as well as validation and verification of the same, requirements on packaging, handling, storage, and transportation, and development of new equipment training.Provide broad and in-depth level expertise/consultation services in Life cycle Logistics policies, procedures to Product Support Manager/ILSMs, systems and design engineers as well as project management leaders.Ensure that the 12 product support elements are addressed/ integrated in the systems engineering, design, and project management planning and execution efforts. Ensures supportability analyses are identified, properly planned, resourced and conducted to influence the inherent design of systems as well as to leverage the support infrastructure in which system will function.Participate in system design, Test & Evaluation/corrective actions reviews as needed. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required. Ten (10) years of professional experience with configuration management issues associated with maintaining and controlling all hardware inventory, documentation, product releases, and software configuration management.Demonstrated management skills, to include: Configuration management of hardware and software inventory, documentation, Configuration Control Boards, change management and product configuration management.Experience supervising Configuration Management Specialists. Individual shall also work closely with the Configuration Control Board in defining and implementing procedures for releasing new products throughout the entire life cycle. Individual shall provide change management and product configuration management guidance.
Direct experience with one or more of the following Navy ACAT and AAP programs is preferredIntermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 10-20 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for admission to this location.
