**Job Description**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
**Education**
+ A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Transportation or Urban Planning, or related field
+ In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, a High School Diploma or possession of a general equivalency diploma (GED)and four (4) years of experience in operations service planning, personnel scheduling, and/or workflow or business process administration using related software will be considered
**_Twenty-four (24) months following successful performance as a Compiler, an incumbent may be advanced to the Senior Compiler job provided he/she has taken and passed any required written or practical tests, acquired any required certifications and has met acceptable fitness for duty, work record and job performance requirements._**
**Experience**
+ Two (2) years of experience performing schedule building and schedule compiling in a transit environment

**Mission Essential Designation**
+ In accordance with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) this job has been identified as critical to mission essential functions. Incumbents in this role may be required to report to or continue to work in the event of authorized office closings or service suspensions due to severe weather, natural disaster, fire, operational emergencies or related events.
**Job Summary:**
The Senior Compiler develops and maintains transit schedules, operational and personnel work assignments related to transit service plans/changes and special events. The incumbent develops vehicle schedules (or headway sheets), conducts vehicle blocking, run-cutting (assigns work blocks based on vehicles schedules), and rostering, and generates a variety of statistical reports. In addition, the Senior Compiler takes lead responsibility when teamed with a Compiler for schedule development.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Creates and completes operation schedules based on service specifications: including developing vehicle schedules (headways), performing vehicle blocking, and completion of run-cutting and rostering for work assignment.
+ Produces schedule documents for all service schedules and is responsible for delivery to internal customers (e.g. Bus Transportation and Rail Transportation). Maintains a close working relationship with internal stakeholders for processing downstream interfaces or data output of scheduled data.
+ Produces schedule statistics reports: including mileage by line and division, operator pay-hours by line and division; operators’ pay-sheets, comparison of schedules, and annual statistical cost report.
+ Transfers data and converts transit operating schedules to work assignment sheets, develops operator quotas, and run assignment summary sheets by bid-division.
+ Assists in directing implementation and application of recorded statistical data required for development of proposed new and revised transit schedules, evaluates data collected for new or revised transit schedules, and analyzes collected operating data for variances in transit schedule compliance.
**OTHER FUNCTIONS**
+ Works in and/or develops a working knowledge of each functional area within the operations scheduling planning office.
