Job Title: Senior Communications Specialist

Job Summary/Purpose
The communications specialist will work collaboratively within the communications department to manage and execute external and internal stakeholder communications that support the company’s vision, mission, brand and strategic endeavors.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Execute communication strategies: Engage and inform both internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams, through tailored communications strategies. Editorial oversight: Help establish editorial standards and review content from organizations across the operating company and corporation. Some project management, including budgeting and request for proposals, may be involved. Collaborate on key messaging: Work with senior communications staff to develop and distribute messaging across talk points, news releases, web content social media and in support of additional channels managed by other company departments. Media & stakeholder engagement: Develop responses to media inquiries and for use with other external stakeholders. Manage logistics for press conferences and special events. May also act as a company spokesperson. Manage social media: Help manage and grow Entergy Texas’ social media presence, researching and crafting key messages to engage audiences. Develop and support integrated campaigns: Help implement corporate communications strategic campaigns and provide guidance on supporting public relations and marketing efforts, ensuring messages resonate with target audiences and lead to positive business outcomes. Create multimedia content: Develop compelling multimedia content—like photos, videos audio and webcasts—tailored for both internal and external audiences. Crisis communication support: Offer communications support during storms or other emergencies, ensuring accurate and timely messages are shared with the appropriate audiences. Brand management: Assist with managing Entergy’s graphic standards and market branding, including strategies, materials and communication plans to support and promote major functional initiatives and projects. Monitor industry news: Stay on top of industry trends and competitor activities to spot emerging issues and keep the company informed.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum experience required of the position:
Sr. Communications Specialist: 5-7+ years of experience
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Strong experience in public relations and communications planning. Understanding of the public relations research, planning, implementation and evaluation process. Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) is a plus. Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills across multiple formats, including written, visual and multimedia. (AP style knowledge required.) Prior successful media relations experience and/or strong relationships with media desired. Demonstrated ability to use or learn to use an array of software including the Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, Premiere, Dreamweaver, etc.), Office, HTML editing software, analytics tools, and a variety of audio, video and infographic production programs. Experience in stakeholder management and high-level communications. Demonstrated effective use and understanding of internal communications channels, strategies and measurement. Proven success in employee engagement. Strong collaborating and influencing skills (provide advice, counsel and recommend actions to peers and internal clients). Industry knowledge (regulated environment) a plus. Crisis and risk management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, organizational skills and ability to diagnose process and project needs. Adaptability to change.
