The Senior Communication Specialist is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of communication strategies that align with the organization's brand and business objectives. This role involves working closely with executive leadership to craft and refine high-level messaging, managing all communication channels, and ensuring the organization’s brand image is consistently maintained. The Senior Communication Specialist also leads the analysis of communication effectiveness and uses data-driven insights to refine strategies for optimal impact.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and creation of graphics, digital media, and visual content for change effort communications across a diversity of formats (e.g., briefings, newsletters, flyers, posters, fact sheets, websites, social media, news and announcements, trifolds, and branding materials)Lead the development of communication artifactsDevelop and distribute newsletters on a quarterly basis to provide updates to stakeholdersCraft and refine messages to align with the organization’s brand and strategic goals, ensuring communications are clear, concise, and engaging for stakeholdersUse visual storytelling techniques to communicate complex changes in an accessible way, helping stakeholders adopt new processes and transition smoothly to the future stateCollaborate with OCM specialists, graphic designers, and the client to create content that aligns with OCM assessments and stakeholder management insightsUpdate and manage content on the client’s internal website and other identified digital platforms to ensure consistent and up-to-date informationDevelop and implement social media strategies for client to increase engagement and reach among stakeholders, coordinating with web designers and content creatorsMonitor social media trends, respond to stakeholder inquiries, and ensure consistent messaging across all digital communication channelsEnsure all communication materials adhere to copyright regulations, brand guidelines, and organizational valuesDevelop comprehensive communication strategies and engagement plans to support the client programDefine clear communication goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication effortsTrack and analyze communication effectiveness using metrics such as audience reach, engagement, and sentiment analysis to inform adjustments to strategies and tacticsWork closely with program offices, graphic designers, and other communication teams to ensure consistent and coordinated messaging across all communication channels QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related fieldAt least 7 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related fields, with a strong track record of leading communication initiativesExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organizationExpertise in visual storytelling, graphic design, and the creation of digital mediaAdvanced proficiency in communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systemsU.S. Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced certification in Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent fields is a plusAdditional certifications in leadership or strategic communication are advantageousFederal Consulting Experience Preferred#LI-Remote
