Senior Collaboration Engineer

PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Senior Collaboration Engineer will support SDX Associates across our various divisions with collaboration tools. This role provides best-in-class services, identifies and implements new tools, and modernizes existing tools to enhance productivity. It demands a strategic approach to system administration, automation, and integration, providing you with an excellent opportunity to contribute to our organization's success.

Coordinate and conduct user training sessions and conferences including training leadership team members on functionality and features, presenting upcoming enhancements and changes.

Project manage event support which includes working closely with Corporate Affairs/stakeholders to provide digital technologies and support for special events such as offsite leadership summits, virtual meetings, and global & regional broadcasts.

Identify gaps and shortcomings in our collaboration tools and platforms impacting user experience.

Envision and implement innovative ideas to enhance the overall user experience for our diverse workforce.

Shape a workplace environment that fosters productivity, collaboration, and job satisfaction through technology solutions.

Administer and optimize collaboration tools.

Ensure these tools align with defined standards and enhance overall employee collaboration.

Define, champion, and conduct pilots and proof of concepts and innovations with service owners for new and emerging collaboration technologies.

Ensure the 5 Principles are followed for all activities.

Work as part of a global team in the execution of tasks/projects.

Interact with senior management on a regular basis.

Manage projects and lead enhancement and development activities. This requires working with customers, vendors, and internal technical teams to help implement new applications and services, including continuous improvement activities.

Work closely with software vendors on support and upgrade activities.

Develop and maintain support processes, procedures, and documentation.

Share knowledge and best practices within the team and the broader organization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

5+ years of experience in administering collaboration tools.

Bachelor’s degree, computer information systems, information technology, or relevant field. Experience in IT, higher education, or related fields.

Excellent documentation skills.

Experience working on multi-functional, cross-team projects.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to translate large quantities of complex input into actionable outcomes, and present ideas and solutions in non-technical, business-friendly terms.

Knowledge of security and compliance standards related to collaboration tools and data handling.

The ability to identify root causes of issues.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Extensive sitting, phone, and computer use

Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers

Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch

May be required to lift, move, and carry up to 15 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Hearing ability to effectively communicate via the telephone and in person

Ability to communicate verbally on the telephone and in person

Fluency in the English language

Extended hours may be needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

The employee will primarily work in a typical office environment including use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent. 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  The employee will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, database management, email, and the Internet.
