Chenega Services & Federal Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to join our team of IT experts at the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The successful candidate will design, architect, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions using AWS and Azure that meet business requirements for scalability, availability, and disaster recovery. This position will require a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, security best practices, and compliance regulations. Responsibilities Cloud Architecture Design: Design and architect robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions using AWS and Azure tailored to meet specific business needs and requirements. Implementation and Configuration: Implement and configure cloud resources such as virtual machines, storage solutions, databases, and networking components on both AWS and Azure platforms. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate cloud infrastructure deployment and management using IaC tools like AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, or Terraform. Cloud Migration: Plan and execute cloud migration strategies for moving on-premises applications, data, and workloads to AWS and Azure environments with minimal disruption and optimize performance post-migration. Resource Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage and performance to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness by implementing and managing cloud resource scaling, load balancing, and performance tuning. Security Implementation: Implement and enforce security best practices and policies for cloud environments, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Incident Response: Respond to and resolve cloud-related incidents, including performance issues, outages, and security breaches by setting up and maintaining monitoring and alerting systems for cloud resources using tools like AWS CloudWatch or Azure Monitor. Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud expenditures and implement cost-saving strategies such as resource rightsizing, reserved instances, and efficient resource management to provide regular reports and recommendations for optimizing cloud costs. Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and backup strategies for cloud environments to ensure data integrity and availability by testing and validating disaster recovery procedures and ensuring they meet business continuity requirements. Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with development, operations, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions with existing systems and workflows while maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and processes. Mentorship: Mentor junior cloud engineers and other team members on cloud technologies, best practices, and tools. Staying Current: Stay current with AWS and Azure updates, new services, and industry trends to continuously improve cloud infrastructure and practices by evaluating and implementing new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance cloud operations and capabilities. Cloud Governance: Implement and enforce cloud governance policies and practices to manage cloud resources, security, and compliance effectively by developing high-level and detailed architecture diagrams and ensuring that cloud deployments adhere to organizational governance policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum 8 years of experience in designing, architecting, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions using AWS and Azure. Proven expertise in Cloud Security, Compliance, and Governance. Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, scalability, availability, and disaster recovery principles. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional. Microsoft Azure Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert. Other relevant certifications in Cloud Computing, Security, and Governance. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work independently and execute on a day to day basis, while employing a hands on approach. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Final salary determination based on skill-set, qualifications, and approved funding.
