The Opportunity
We are seeking a suitably qualified Senior Civil Design Engineer for a wide range of challenging infrastructure projects in our Ireland team, based in our Dublin Office on 50 Ringsend Road.
The 15-strong site infrastructure team in Ireland (based primarily in Dublin and Cork) provides a range of design services on projects in both the public and private sectors. We work very closely with other Arup teams as part of Arup-wide multi-disciplinary teams in Ireland and across the World.
We deliver projects primarily in the Science Industry and technology, Property, Healthcare, Social Infrastructure and Education sectors.
The team works principally in a BIM environment, constructing models in Civil 3D and Revit for coordination and connection with each discipline team in a collaborative common data environment (CDE). We deploy green infrastructure (GI) and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) designs to the maximum extent possible on our projects.
At Arup, we combine the various core civil engineering aspects of a project and combine these into a single business offering for our clients, which is delivered by our dedicated Site Infrastructure team.

Degree qualified in Civil Engineering with minimum 10 years’ experience within a consultancy environment Must have chartered professional status, or similar recognised qualification Strong site infrastructure technical design skills (surface water, foul, water, roads and carparks, earthworks, MEP services coordination) Awareness of the Irish regulatory and planning framework, together with experience of managing site infrastructure projects through the planning process Experience of Liaising with Irish Water, Utility Companies and Local Authorities Experience of managing internal and external design interfaces e.g., architectural, structural, geotechnical, landscape, mechanical and electrical Ability to technically lead and manage the design process on site infrastructure projects from conceptual layout to detailed design and construction Passionate about driving digital delivery on projects and keeping appraised of latest industry developments around digital and BIM Experience of leading and directing teams in a digital/BIM environment, co-ordinating civil services with those of other disciplines Experience with Civil 3D/Revit and other BIM software Knowledge of Navisworks and clash detection process Knowledge of Micro drainage or similar network modelling software Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and organisational skills
