Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Category Manager: Indirect. The role will report to the Group Procurement Officer.

The role is responsible in establishing strategic leadership and development and ensuring that all sourcing strategies are successfully executed and fully implemented. The incumbent is responsible to negotiate and conclude supplier contracts, including defining sourcing strategies, deployment, value engineering and stakeholder management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Key Outputs and Accountabilities include, but not limited to:

Develop and implement Category Strategies for, but not limited to Marketing and logistics, PBS, ICT and MRO Commodities in alignment with the CEPG Stakeholder and Internal Stakeholder requirements.

Support the business to deliver their business plans and targets.

Identify and influence stakeholders and develop a collaborative network throughout all countries to allow the strategy development and sourcing execution of projects.

Build and enhance key customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction within the business and the countries.

Ensure BU needs are being represented and incorporated into category strategies.

Develop the Go-To-Market and negotiation strategies in alignment with CEPG and ensuring proper documentation.

Define requirements and templates for analytics and market intelligence support that is required from the in Country Local Category Specialists.

Keeping abreast of Global trends and markets with regards to specific, but not limited to Marketing and logistics, PBS, ICT and MRO commodities.

Formalise and conclude agreed terms and conditions in a legal binding contract protecting CCBA interest to ensure mitigation of risk.

Lead supplier development activities for key suppliers, lead cross functional review meetings with suppliers to improve performance and further reduce cost.

Strategic Sourcing and Category Management – Ability to develop and implement category strategies that align with business objectives and drive cost efficiencies.

Stakeholder Engagement and Influence – Skilled in identifying, engaging, and influencing stakeholders across multiple countries to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Negotiation and Contract Management – Expertise in developing Go-To-Market strategies, leading negotiations, and formalising contracts that mitigate risk and maximise value.

Supplier Relationship and Performance Management – Capable of leading supplier development initiatives, conducting performance reviews, and driving continuous improvement.

Data Analytics and Market Intelligence – Proficient in leveraging market intelligence and analytics to assess trends, optimise sourcing decisions, and enhance procurement strategies.

Business Acumen and Cross-Functional Collaboration – Strong ability to align procurement strategies with business goals while working effectively with cross-functional teams.

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualifications:

Degree in Supply Chain / Engineering / Finance.

 

Experience:

10+ years of business experience in of which 6 years minimum is required in Strategic Purchasing within a FMCG environment.

Depth knowledge of procurement, preferably working in an international environment will be a benefit.
