CAD Operator III is a senior level CAD position. This individual creates CAD deliverables, and completes other duties as assigned. This is accomplished utilizing Project Manager & Plant direction, field data, and legacy information.     

Education:Associate degree, Diploma from recognized technical school in, AutoCAD, or equivalent work experienceExperience:Normally has 10 to 12 years CAD experience in AutoCAD Job Duties:Projects are assigned by the CAD Department ManagerProject tasks are carried out under the direction of the Project Manager, Responsible Design Professional (RDP), and Project EngineerCAD Department Manager, and Lead CAD Operators (CAD -4) will provide coaching and directionDevelop CAD deliverables and ensure that they are complete, and accurate; the deliverables include but are not limited to; 2D Drawings, 3D models, 3D detail models, 3D model extractions, PID & PFD’s, and any other CAD technologyRead and interpret design drawingsCoordinate construction documents with client, when requestedReview constructability and feasibility of construction detailsReview shop drawings for constructability and compliance with design documentsGenerate material takeoffs from 2D and 3D CAD dataField surveying and information gatheringDevelopment of CAD standards and CAD templatesResponsible for accurate and timely Project file management (CAD files, Vendor files, Emails, etc.) and dissemination of project informationCoordinate design work with other disciplines (i.e. mechanical, piping, and electrical) through proper use of reference filesClient Contact:Maintain client communications as requested by Project ManagerResolve complex modeling and layout issues with Clients as requestedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities required:Very knowledgeable in “AutoCAD” and preferably “Advance Steel” or equivalent design applicationsVery knowledgeable in 2D drafting and 3D modeling techniquesAdvises and coordinates with CAD Manager regarding the best method for accomplishing project assignment; utilizes office standards and concepts to develop final working drawingsUtilize office templates and standardsPatient, organized, thorough, self starter and self motivatedOriginal and creative ideasDirect preparation of drawings and models by other team members when requestedProvide meaningful feedback to project teams, and CAD Manager to help the CAD team improve performanceNot satisfied with status quo; continually strives to find new and better solutions to CAD drafting and modeling challengesTeamwork: Positive, can-do attitude, regardless of the circumstancesAlways pitches in, gives best effort, sticks up for team members, and shares the gloryValue and respect diversity of skills and perspectives and ensure everyone plays a part in achieving successDevelop strong working relationships with a high level of communication within the CAD teamExcited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed?
