Key Responsibilities:The Global Procurement organization at United Airlines is responsible for procuring goods and services and developing/ maintaining relationships with third-party providers with the objective of reducing total cost and risk to the company while improving levels of quality, service, and technology.
The Senior Buyer – Global Procurement supports United’s Global Procurement team by working directly with key suppliers and distribution partners. This position sources commodities from approved United sources, assists with the setup of new approved sources, participates in the development of sourcing strategies and supply contracts, and implements the “Three bids and a buy” process.
Source commodities and implement “three bids and a buy” processFor higher complexity categories, negotiate for spot buying, specification compliance, and/or volume discountsMaintain relationships with internal partners and external key account representativesEscalate concerns to Global Procurement leaders as neededUpdates price models based on established indices and confirming accuracy of price dataPurchase commodities from pre-determined sources and assist with the setup of new approved sourcesThis position is responsible for sourcing crew member hotels and ground transportationThis position requires up to 70% travelUnited values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply.
