 The Senior Buyer is responsible for supporting multiple plant operations through sourcing and procuring materials and services and preparing and issuing purchase orders.

What Success Looks Like:

Execute all aspects of procurement of raw materials, packaging, MRO, and freight. Generate and issue purchase orders in ERP system. Analyze global market developments for key commodities. Develop strategic plans to mitigate adverse effects and take advantage of market developments. Coordinate with Operations to ensure material availability and price/cost visibility. Coordinate with internal customers on the sourcing and purchase of non-ERP requirements. Negotiate and maintain all terms/agreements with suppliers to adhere to Quanex and SOX guidelines. Source materials to achieve best value through pricing, quality, functionality, and lead time. Manage on-time deliveries from suppliers and maintain/distribute sourcing metrics. Verify and authorize invoices for payment. Actively participate in Lean Six Sigma activities Responsible for profit improvement through the use of material specification reviews. 

Your Credentials:

Requires an associate degree in business or Supervisory management. 5-7 years of manufacturing or related supervisory and/or purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform functions of the job.

The salary range for this position is $55K - $68,500 with bonus potential.
