Summary of Senior Buyer Position
The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials, components, and services from suppliers. This role ensures optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance while maintaining strong supplier relationships and compliance with global trade regulations. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in international sourcing, vendor management, and supply chain optimization, with a strong understanding of logistics, customs, and foreign currency impacts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Create purchase orders for both US and International Suppliers
+ Confirm proper order/transactional execution, data entry and reporting of assigned products and services
+ Review order confirmations from vendors, update correct pricing in the system.
+ Follow up on back orders and past due orders and communicate with end users the status of their orders and expected delivery dates.
+ Evaluating suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, and other criteria
+ Interviewing vendors and visiting suppliers' facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing
+ Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
+ A minimum of 3-5 years of purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Business or Technical Bachelor's Degree preferred
+ International Purchasing experience preferred
