The Microsoft National Security and Space Business Development team is responsible for strategic alliances, new partnership opportunity identification, and inorganic growth initiatives (including Mergers & Acquisitions) for Microsoft’s Airgap and Space product offerings. We drive impact through forging industry-leading partnerships, the evaluation of opportunities that accelerate Microsoft’s government and space businesses, and tracking industry innovation and market developments. As a team, we hold ourselves accountable to use data, customer signal, and best practices to drive clarity on strategy, product plans, and partnerships.
We are seeking an Airgap Business Development Senior Manager to join the team. In this role, you will work closely with executive members of the Business Development, Strategy, and Ventures (BDSV) organization, Microsoft Cloud and AI engineering organization, Microsoft US Federal and Worldwide Public Sector sales organizations, and key Microsoft wide executives to identify how Microsoft can accelerate the airgap cloud through development of a highly secure, end-to-end government cloud, extending value for Microsoft’s partner ecosystem for better-together customer value. You will also work cross-company with Product, Finance, Corporate Development, Legal, Marketing and other stakeholders to ensure a disciplined and executable plan is delivered. This is a critical and fast-paced role with high impact and direct executive visibility.

**Responsibilities**
+ Have an understanding of competitive and market dynamics, technology trends, and emerging start-ups in the Government, Defense & Intelligence, Cloud, and/or AI sectors.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders across the company (engineering, operations, corp dev, finance, legal) in development of business & growth strategies, and identify partnerships, co-investments, and acquisitions that can rapidly grow our business goals.
+ Act as a trusted and unbiased advisor to executive stakeholders.
+ Own and lead multiple complex, parallel workstreams.
+ Drive rapid and informed decision making in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
+ Identify, evaluate, and prioritize specific opportunities in support of the broader strategy including developing the business case (strategic rationales and economics), creatively structuring deal terms, developing a negotiation strategy, and leading negotiations.
+ Build and maintain internal consensus with all stakeholders at all stages of the deal process
+ Maintain a network of relationships across the relevant industries. Leverage relationships in opportunity identification and transaction execution.

**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field AND 5+ years relevant work experience (e.g., enterprise technology, defense industrial base, government, investment banking, strategy consulting, finance, corporate strategy, venture capital, business development, or related field)
+ OR equivalent experience
+ Experience in structuring and negotiating complex strategic alliances or acquisitions.
+ Experience in financial modeling and market analysis with analytical skills

**Preferred Qualifications **
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field AND 8+ years relevant work experience (e.g., enterprise technology, cybersecurity, data governance, investment banking, strategy consulting, finance, corporate strategy, venture capital, business development, or related field)
+ OR Master's/Advanced Degree in Business, Administration, AND 4+ years relevant work experience (e.g., enterprise technology, investment banking, strategy consulting, finance, corporate strategy, venture capital, business development, or related field)
+ Security clearance
Business Development IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
