Senior Business Analyst (Contract Office)

This role will work in close partnership with the EMEA Client Management team and other internal teams to ensure client legal agreements are properly drafted, executed and maintained.

As part of a Global Contract Office team, your primary focus will be to co-ordinate the drafting, execution and ongoing maintenance of legal agreements for corporate clients investing in EMEA-domiciled investment products and strategies, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the appropriate language and protection is in place. You will need to build and maintain excellent relationships with all relevant internal stakeholders and to ensure that new client business and client change is implemented effectively and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding, Implementation and Change

Ensure that all client documents, fee schedules and material obligations for pooled investments and segregated mandates are approved and documented prior to funding;Co-ordinate the negotiation and completion of client legal agreements;Review and analyse investment management agreements, investment guidelines, and other relevant schedules;Lead/handle and coordinate the review and inputs from appropriate business areas to complete the approval and execution of the documents;Coordinate all relevant documentation required for Client- onboarding across the business, marking up the legal documents accordingly where required;Partner with relevant business areas and ensuring they review, acknowledge and sign-off their contractual obligations and respond in appropriate time to facilitate orderly progress with clients;Documentation of issue resolution and status updates;Capturing, approval, validation and agreement of pricing arrangements within documentation where rebates are in place;Partner with EMEA Client Management and key business areas as appropriate such as legal, compliance, sales, finance, portfolio managers, performance measurement, and operations to support the negotiation of pooled and mandate terms;Partner with our EMEA Wholesale business through assistance with the coordination of rebate and distribution agreements.

Ongoing Management

Ensure that client legal agreements are properly stored in our strategic internal and third party systems including Salesforce and LifeRay;Extract and store material obligations from all new and amended client legal agreements to enable future analysis and insights;Respond promptly and accurately to internal information requests regarding client legal agreement scope, contents and obligations, such as any contracts containing Most Favored Nation (MFN) clauses.

Projects and other activities

Ensure that sufficient and timely management reporting is being produced on the status of client legal agreements and projects related to these;Handle and supervise work-in-progress update meetings, communication with key business leaders and internal/external Audit process;Maintain internal audited processes such as Work In Progress (WIP) calls and minutes, Electronic Contract Approval (eCAP) document sign-off and execution and Mandate Database operational sign-off;Lead and actively participate in process improvements and improving productivity & quality for client onboarding including implementation of processes, ongoing monitoring (including development of solutions to automate monitoring process).


Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent3 to 5 years of relevant experienceHave proven experience working with client agreements both in terms of onboarding and ongoing pooled and mandate change;Excellent investment management experience including proven understanding of asset management, financial instruments, administration processes, performance analysis, reporting and awareness of legal drafting;Must be a structured individual with strong workflow management and project management skills;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills needed to interact independently with key business leaders;Strong ability to work with others both in the team and across the business to achieve effective solutions and decisions;Excellent listening skills and a confident yet empathetic approach to dealing with stakeholders within the business;Good self-organisational and time management skills; ability to work through pressure and short deadlines;Strive to achieve a first class service management function;Ability to make clear decisions and exercise good judgement; proven problem solving, specifically around data and process;Must be able to work with minimal supervision and personal ownership;Must be a good as a collaborator as well as individual contributor;Openly shares information and own expertise with others;Excellent in numerical and written skills.


Preferred Qualifications

An understanding of fund management, financial instruments, administration processes, etc. within financial institutions, especially in asset management.Good self-organizational and time management skills; ability to work under pressure to short deadlines.
