Job Description

As a Senior Business Analyst (Payments), you will be responsible for creating, refining, and clarifying the detailed definition of the business need, designing the corresponding business processes, and supporting the implementation of the associated business solution.


You will work in cross-functional Agile teams, including Product Owners, Developers, Testers, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders (e.g. Risk) to identify customer and business needs, and translate them into requirements expressed as Use Stories, to ultimately deliver compelling Customer and Colleague Experiences.

You will be recognized as a lead specialist in the Payments area within the organization. As such, you are expected to keep abreast of developments in the Payments industry, and have a fair level of subject matter expertise in this domain.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Collaborate with Payments Product Owners and other stakeholders to identify and document business requirements for banking systems and processes in an Agile environmentWork with Product Owners, Architects and Development teams to design and develop solutions that meet customer needsAnalyze and translate business requirements into artefacts that define and express the requirements, including:User StoriesAcceptance Criteria (Gherkin)Business ProcessesBusiness RulesWireframesData Requirements (including observability, analytics and reporting)High-level Solution DesignsRun Grooming sessionsProactively manage project timelines, and deliverables, utilizing and engaging in, Agile practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectivesConduct user acceptance testing and ensure that systems and processes are performing as expectedCommunicate with stakeholders to provide updates on status and ensure alignment with business goals and objectivesProactively identify opportunities for process, product and systoem improvements and propose solutions to increase efficiency and effectivenessProvide guidance/support to more junior Business AnalystsConstantly engage with the Payments Product Owner and SME to craft and maintain the stategic and tactical visions for Payments in the BankDrive innovation in the Payments areaWhere necessary, serve as a Payments SME to support non-Payments BAs and POs.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

7+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst/Senior Business AnalystAt least 5 years working in the South African Payments domainExperience with system implementation, testing, and deployment, ideally in Retail BankingDemonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendorsFamiliarity with regulatory compliance and risk management practices in Retail Banking in general, and SA Payments industry in particularSpecific experience requirements:Retail BankingDigital Banking (online and mobile app)Payments (SA landscape)

Ability to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needs.Experience in messaging platforms, protocols, and techniques such as Kafka, and event sourcing.Experience deploying applications in cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. AWS is preferred.Document data mappings between front-end and back-end systems.Experience with gathering end user requirements and writing technical documentation leveraging Agile and other frameworksTime management and multitasking skills to effectively meet challenging deadlinesAbility to suggest innovative solutions based on new technologies and latest trendsUnderstanding of data security and data access controls and design aspectsExcellent client facing and team player skills
