Senior Budget Analyst
Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Budget Analyst to support the AMES Research Center (ARC) with NASA. This role involves strategic financial planning, budget execution, compliance and auditing, enterprise-level financial systems management, high-level problem solving, and leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Government financial management and a strong ability to mentor and guide junior analysts. Your future duties and responsibilities:

o Strategic Financial Planning & Budget Execution
o Leads the integration of business, cost estimating, and financial management processes to ensure the effective allocation of public funds.
o Prepares budget justifications, funding requests, and strategic financial plans.
• Advanced Compliance & Auditing
o Ensures financial procedures comply with Government regulations, accounting principles, and internal control policies.
o Advises senior management on regulatory changes impacting financial management.
• Enterprise-Level Financial Systems & Data Management
o Works with complex enterprise resource planning (ERP) financial systems for budget analysis and reporting.
o Provides technical guidance in financial data collection, reconciliation, and strategic forecasting.
• High-Level Problem Solving & Policy Development
o Applies expert-level knowledge of Government financial management practices, budget formulation, and cost analysis to optimize financial decision-making.
o Identifies risks and opportunities in budget execution and recommends corrective actions.
• Leadership & Mentoring
o Serves as a mentor and resource for junior analysts, providing training and guidance.
o Supports multiple organizations or centers, providing subject matter expertise in financial planning and execution.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• High School Diploma
• 6-16+ Years of Relevant Experience
• SAP and Business Objects (BOBJ) or other accounting systems
• Government Financial Processes
• Knowledge of developing cost estimates / proposals for potential new work
