In this role you will execute complex bridge and transportation structure projects from concept to completion. Serve as the Georgia technical bridge expert both designing and guiding projects while innovating cutting-edge bridge design solutions. What You'll Do:
The Senior Bridge Engineer will demonstrate an established career in the transportation industry and have a successful track record with the design and delivery of structural infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to be involved with capital infrastructure bridge projects for our clients across the Southeast. The objective of the position is to lead, pursue, develop, and execute major projects required to deliver client projects within established and agreed budgets and schedules. We will count on you to:
Help play a pivotal role in leading, executing, and delivering a wide range of transportation planning and design projects. This involves overseeing project schedules, budgets, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work.Assist Structural team with business development pursuitsPlans, develops, coordinates and directs complex structural projectsServe as a staff/technical resource in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, methods or processes in resolution of unique engineering problemsPlans, organizes, and directs the work of a staff of engineers and techniciansMay serve as resident engineer and/or structure representative on construction projectsMay supervise staff engineers, including evaluating their progress and results obtained, and determining a course of action (including change if needed) to achieve overall objectivesDevelop and foster relationships with a network of contacts and clients that will lead to future projectsWhat You'll Need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering8 + Year extensive experience designing DOT bridge and roadway projects including major transportation infrastructureActive PE. License Ability to develop productive, long-term relationships and communicate with clients, peers, multi-disciplinary teams, and management Management experience, including developing scopes of work, reviewing invoices, and managing client communicationsFamiliar with the DOT Bridge and Structures Design Manual.Experience designing DOT Bridge for seismic loadingDesign and construction support experience with transportation projectsExperience mentoring junior staffPrior consulting experience managing municipal (state, county, city) projectsProficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS ProjectExperience with Open Bridge Designer (OBD) and MathCad PrimeExcellent written and verbal communications skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently with multiple prioritiesAttention to detail, delivering quality work products, and excellent client serviceStrong communicator and relationship builderCollaborative and proactive approach to workPositive attitude/team player/growth mindsetThis hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
