Senior Auditor

About this position

The senior auditor position is based in our Troy, MI corporate offices. The primary responsibilities include leading audit engagements, internal control testing, providing on-the-job coaching to fellow team members, and maintaining effective communications with client management. This position primarily operates in a team setting, requiring the candidate to exhibit strong teamwork skills and abilities.

The senior auditor will work as part of the North America Internal Audit Services Department, which covers divisional and corporate-level functions. The position reports to the internal audit manager and acts as an advisor to management. The position requires a high level of interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management.

Responsibilities and duties

This position will be responsible for leading audit field engagements (financial, operational, compliance and SOX audits) including elements of the following cycles:

The senior auditor will also be responsible for summarizing findings and developing audit comments, including identifying areas for improvement. Further, the senior auditor will also:

Basic qualifications

Minimum four years of finance/audit-related experience with public accounting firm or internal audit for large multi-national companyExperience with developing or auditing Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404 documentationBachelor’s degree required in Accounting/Finance or other relevant subjectLanguage Competency: English required, fluent verbally and writtenAbility to travel up to 10%

Nice to haves (preferred qualifications)

Master’s degreeCertified Public Accountant (“CPA”) or Certified Internal Auditor (“CIA”)Previous automotive or technology industry experienceData analytic experienceSAP experienceHyperion experience
