Senior Architectural Technologist

Role description:

Our fast-growing team is looking for an Senior Architectural Technologist with experience in developing details for complex building typologies. The successful candidate will hold a Degree in Architecture or a Diploma in Architectural Technology and have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience working end to end in the working/construction drawings cycle, be an out-of-the-box thinker with a talent for developing creative detailing solutions. You will have hands-on experience with detailed drawings, strong ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and cross organizational teams, have a keen eye for detail, be a strong critical thinker, and enjoys tackling new challenges and opportunities.  The candidate will offer a robust portfolio of working drawing with details and construction documents showing an array of complex projects (transit/p3/institutional) and a holistic understanding of the design process.

Role accountabilities:
 

Develop architectural working drawing packages using Revit Detail development Coordinate with other architectural and engineering disciplines and work streams Coordinate with outside consultants Work on multiple projects at the same time Support the project manager on field services and construction administration

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of 7 years’ of experience as a senior architectural technologist/job captain in an architectural firm  Candidate must demonstrate  Strong portfolio of production drawings experience with other varied complex architectural projects (ie. Transit, P3, Institutional, etc) High proficiency in developing architectural drawing packages and knowledgeable with detailing Proficiency with Revit - Revit proficiently test or additional Revit interview may be required Strong communication (written and verbal) and time management skills, examples may be requested   Strong documentation skills, examples may be requested   Experience with AutoCADD, Rhino or other drafting programs is an asset Speed, accuracy and proficiency in Microsoft Office software, and following office CADD and office Standards is expected Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and Ontario Building Systems is expected Able to work under pressure to complete work and meet deadlines Strong leadership and relationship building skills with an ability to direct junior staff to produce presentation and construction documents Strong experience with engineering discipline coordination at the team captain level  Strong project coordination experience and ability to manage competing deadlines Ability to develop and test architectural solutions at various scales Adaptable, agile, and open to accepting design challenges  A great roll-up-your-sleeves attitude where no task is too big nor too small, great critical thinking skills with an ability to think outside the box and work with minimal supervision

The salary range for this position is $89,000 - $134,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
