The Special Workload Engineering team within Azure Core is a team that has the focus on enabling, helping and supporting mission critical applications like SAP to integrate SAP software, SaaS, and PaaS services into the Azure platform. Beyond that the team develops solution and reference architectures for such specialized workload like SAP on the Azure platform. The team is spread globally with three main locations of the SAP headquarter in Walldorf in Germany, the Microsoft headquarter in Redmond, WA, and Hyderabad, India. Main communication language of the team is English.

**Responsibilities**
+ Design, build, tests, and document deployment architectures around Epic EHR and other Epic workloads
+ Work with Azure Core development teams to test and tune services for Epic workload
+ Engage with customer deploying Epic workload on Azure and handle customer escalations
+ Build automated tests of Epic workload scenarios for other Azure services
+ Build deployment automation in Terraform/Ansible
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years work experience in Epic EHR architecture and its operations in highly available deployments and an understanding of hardware compute, network, and storage infrastructure and know how those components interact with the Epic software stack
+ 3+ years work experience managing mission critical software like Epic or SAP in virtualized environments, ideally Azure
**_Other Requirements:_**
+ Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer ScienceOR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 6+ years experience in investigating performance across the stack of mission critical workload like Epic or SAP and the underlying infrastructure and virtualization; and developing and scripting deployment automation of infrastructure and software and integrating and monitoring Epic systems into enterprise-wide solutions
+ Experience in integrations between Epic systems and other Healthcare information systems. For example: Interface engines, PACs and other Medical Imaging technologies
+ Previous experience working in global distributed teams with an understanding of hardware compute, network, and storage infrastructure and know how those components interact with the Epic software stack AND OR experience in Epic EHR architecture and its operations in highly available deployments
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
