The **Senior Analyst** will provide legal document review support for Analysts that assign and surveil ratings on Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities.
**The Impact:** The Senior Analyst will support primary analysts by reviewing the structural provisions of document terms in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) transactions for consistency with our criteria and identifying unique deal features or provisions. The successful candidate will also assist surveillance analysts in reviewing amendments to existing CMBS transaction documents as part of our surveillance of existing CMBS ratings. Training will be provided to help the Senior Analyst gain an understanding of our criteria and methodology, as well as how the criteria and methodology are typically represented in the transaction documents. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for supporting the analysts in discussions with transaction parties including the arrangers, servicers and their counsel as needed. The Senior Analyst will be expected to identify and highlight trends in the document terms that may be relevant to our view of the credit risk. The Associate will be based in our Denver or Chicago office providing support to analysts based in New York, Denver, and analysts working virtually.

**Responsibilities:** Provide support to the CMBS new issue and surveillance analysts by:
+ Reviewing transaction documents;
+ Providing written feedback to the analysts on the transaction structure;
+ Highlighting consistencies and inconsistencies with our criteria;
+ Supporting the analysts in discussions with transaction parties including the arrangers, servicers and their counsel as needed; and
+ Highlighting trends in the document terms that may be relevant to our view of the credit risk.
**Compensation/Benefits Information:** (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,700.00 to $170,400.00. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

**What We’re Looking For:**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ A bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance or economics or a related field of study.
+ A minimum of 3 to 5+ years’ experience with securitization documents, preferably CMBS
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ A JD and or legal document review experience in structured financial products is strongly preferred
+ Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team.
+ Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
+ Ability to be highly organized, detail-oriented and to multitask
