**The Team:** The Regulated Utilities team is part of the vibrant and growing Infrastructure Practice within S&P Global Ratings. The team covers an expansive list of regulated investor-owned utilities based primarily in the U.S. and Canada. Analytical team members work within a dynamic team environment, responding to important analytical developments including extraordinary capital spending growth related to energy transition, climate change and grid modernization to power accelerating demand for power in North America. Team members actively surveil electric, gas and water utility operating results as well as strategic and regulatory developments that impact the credit quality of our coverage. The Practice also includes several other asset classes that work on a diverse range of transactions applying different ratings criteria. This construct offers our analysts opportunities to expand their knowledge and to work on transactions in partnership with other teams on a regular basis. Effective teamwork and a thoughtful approach to problem solving are highly valued.

**Responsibilities:**
+ Undertake rigorous analytical work through conducting research and fundamental credit analysis.
+ Conduct thorough credit analysis by analyzing financial statements, working with financial models and forecasts, and writing analytical reports on rated electric, gas and water investor-owned utilities.
+ Manage a portfolio of credits and maintain excellent communication with your issuers while facilitating the rating process of their businesses and debt issuances.
+ Conduct proactive surveillance on your assigned credits and prepare financial models and thorough analysis for presentation to our ratings committees.
+ Closely manage and collaborate with team members and stakeholders throughout the ratings process, including the preparation of research reports for publishing related to our reviews and events impacting credit quality.
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and participate in continuous improvement efforts as part of a learning organization dedicated to operational excellence.
**What We’re Looking For:**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ A bachelor’s degree in in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics is required, along with progress toward an MBA or master’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics and/or CFA (preferred).
+ At least 2 years of applicable demonstrable experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, credit risk or public accounting is required.
+ Must have strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting concepts.
+ Experience analyzing large corporations including applicable industry (Utilities, Power, Oil & Gas, Midstream) experience is preferred, but not required.
+ Proficiency with calculations and the ability to maintain accuracy and be detail oriented while complying with deadlines is required.
+ Must have strong skills with Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills, along with an ability to prepare financial forecasts based upon reasoned assumptions.
+ Exceptional communication skills, (verbal and written) are required.
+ Must have strong client service skills.
**Compensation/Benefits Information:**
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $110,250 to $143,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
