Key Responsibilities:The Sr. Analyst - Inventory Strategy combines supply-planning practices and process improvement to optimize our centralized supply plan. They do this through work on strategic projects to support aircraft spare-part planning for expendable and rotable parts required by the maintenance operation of United Airline’s fleets. Day-to-day responsibilities include: cross-functional training and knowledge sharing, process-mapping and documentation, identifying and leading projects to improve inventory efficiency, defining requirements for analyses and evaluating changing network-level supply- planning parameters, and presenting at the executive level
Define requirements for sophisticated data analysis to evaluate adjustments to planning parameters (planned service level, consumption segments, etc) and recommend adjustments to existing processes to balance cost and serviceDocument business processes or business logic in operations manuals, process diagrams, flowcharts, and training materialsGain and interpret data sets to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support decision-makingPrepare and deliver presentations that advise, persuade, empowers, and drive decisionsCollaborate cross-functionally to identify, refine, and define requirementsTrain partners to support change managementStrong written and verbal communication skillsFind your future at United We’re reinventing what our industry looks like, and what an airline can be – from the planes we fly to the people who fly them. Bachelors degree in supply chain management, management information systems, business, economics, finance, or related field3 years of experience in a centralized supply planning role or related experienceExperience working in a centralized supply planning environment with a multi-tiered supply networkFamiliarity with calculations for safety stock, cycle stock, and the ability to evaluate what type of data should be shown (for example: how much usage history to include)Exhibits an analytical approach to problem solving with attention to detail and a sense of urgencyAbility to identify automation and process improvement opportunities to improve operational efficiencyUnderstanding of related supply chain functions including sourcing/procurement, vendor management, demand planning, warehousing, and logisticsAbility to complete a root cause analysis and use the findings to guide business changeFamiliarity with ERP capabilities such as SAP IBP for supply planning or system configurations which match the level of detailed hierarchy and inter-related calculationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):MBA/MS or equivalent experience in a quantitative fieldAt least one year of airline experience or experience working in a similar planning environmentLean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certificationASCM Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or similar certificationExperience with continuous improvement methodologiesExperience using statistical and mathematical methodsAbility to use process mapping tools to detail existing processesExperience in a related field involving automation of sophisticated business processesFamiliarity with ERP capabilitiesStrong background in one or more supply chain functionsFamiliarity with Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) functionsFamiliarity with aftermarket planningFamiliarity with the airline industryFamiliarity with Line and Base Maintenance PlanningFamiliarity with MRO planningKnowledge of relational database models and SQLUnited Airlines is an equal opportunity employer.
