What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.
This role will be responsible for maintaining logistics systems, providing planning and execution support with key partner teams including transportation operations, DC operations, IT, sales and customer service through the ERP, transportation management system, and freight payment systems.
Location
This role will be a hybrid position, 1 day in-office per week at the Dublin, OH headquarters.
Responsibilities
Manage key transportation data elements in the transportation management system to support shipment planning, execution, and freight payment.Provide data and documentation for the network.Research and resolution for rate and invoicing discrepancies.Create and maintain SOP’s.Accurately enter and validate data entries.Able to adapt to change.Demonstrates working knowledge of transportation processes and systems, including rate and contract maintenance.Identifies and analyzes routine system issues, documents occurrences, recommends a resolution path and acts with partner teams to resolve them.Accountability to the controllable Logistics expense.Participates in the development and maintenance of SOPs to achieve specific goals.Works to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and by breaking them down into smaller pieces.Ensures that customers have a positive experience; commits to meet or exceed customer expectations.Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency while providing flawless transactions.Ability to work as a team and proactively assist team members as necessary.Excellent time management and organization skills.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred2-4 years of experience in logistics/operations, finance, and process improvement, preferredFamiliarity with KPI’s and metricsAbility to accurately analyze and present data in a highly proficient, concise manner using Excel through key functions such as VLOOKUP, IF Statements and use of Pivot Tables preferredApplication experience using Supply Chain Management through ERP and TMS preferredBroad organizational knowledge is preferred since this role regularly interacts with field and corporate departmentsExcellent customer service, problem solving, and decision-making skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsWhat is expected of you and others at this level
