Description

The Treasury Operations team supports Northern Trust’s Corporate Treasury that manages financial risks impacting the balance sheet.  The Corporate Treasury department and the Treasury Operations Team are vital to Northern Trust’s mission to deliver world class service to our Clients.  As a member within the Treasury Operations group, you will work on a small team and will be responsible for executing the Back Office function supporting daily inquiries, and serve as a liaison between business partners, internal stakeholders (including Treasury Front Office, Reconciliation and Controllers) and external counterparties.

Major Duties

Operates under general supervision, and works independently on daily/monthly and quarterly deliverables.Conduct daily work flow supporting Balance Sheet Management activities involving Assets, Liabilities and Collateral Management.Liaise with the Front Office approving daily transactionsDevelop technical skills to navigate the system of record warehousing the security portfolio and how its leveraged by downstream stakeholders.Carries out data quality controls that impact accounting and cash clearing functions.Works closely with Management on reconciliations and audit deliverablesCollaborates with the Middle Office on testing new capabilities and enhancing current processes.Ability to learn and acquire knowledge to become a Treasury Operations subject matter expert.

Qualifications

A College or University degree in a Business related field and 2+ years relevant proven work experienceStrong attention to detailKnowledge of financial markets and a familiarity with fixed income securitiesHighly flexible and adaptable to changeProject management, time management and communication skillsStrong Microsoft Excel / PowerBi skills
