Join Team Amex and let's lead the way together. **Where are these roles located within American Express?** The **U.S. Consumer Services Team** is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The US Consumer Services Control Management team’s mission is to help identify, assess, mitigate, and report on Operational Risk to ensure that we deliver on the customer promise for our products and services. The team strengthens our culture and discipline of operational risk management and our ability to execute risk management in everything we do. **You could be recruited for a role to serve as a key member in one of our four working groups seen below.** + **Issues, Events & Remediation:** Focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations within our organization. You will be involved in extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies. + **Risk ID & Assessment:** Focused for building a strong risk management culture throughout the 1st Line of defense by creating and embedding risk awareness throughout people, process and technology. This will enable an optimal customer experience, delivering on our customer promise and address the increasing complexity of the risk and regulatory landscape. + **Tech Application Controls:** Application controls are targeted, customized controls that ensure the integrity of data as it flows into, though, and out of a technology application Integrity of data can include but isn’t limited to data accuracy, completeness, validity, verifiability, and consistency **What you’ll bring:** We’re looking for Sr Analysts to provide subject matter expertise on Operational Risk topics to ensure AMEX is equipped with in-depth knowledge of risk to manage and mitigate risks, ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. **Required Qualifications:** + 2 Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities + Project management, communication, and interpersonal skills + Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards + Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous + Experience in at least one of the following: o Supporting identification of operational risks throughout business processes and systems o Facilitating risk assessment performance in addition to further assessments and testing programs to ensure regulatory and internal standards are met o Supporting independent control monitoring, including identification of control improvements o Supporting the identification of areas of risk for intervention, including conducting independent quality assurance and process testing o Compiling thematic risk reporting to provide actionable insights on risk levels, emerging trends and root causes ORMCM **Qualifications** Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
