The University of Chicago Press Distribution Center (CDC) is a state-of-the-art distribution and fulfillment operation, providing a full range of services to the University of Chicago Press and scholarly publishers worldwide. Located in the Historic Pullman District near 110th Langley, the CDC is conveniently located near the Metra and the Bishop Ford Freeway. The facility is two hundred seventy-three thousand square feet, housing nearly twelve million books in inventory, and more than nineteen thousand units shipped daily. Job Summary

The Senior Analyst will help management continually improve processes, operational efficiency, and helps with business development. The Senior Analyst produces business intelligence by coordinating with cross-functional groups and using data from a variety of internal and external sources to model and report on end-to-end Supply Chain and Business Operations. This includes developing and maintaining existing systems, procedures, and policies and implementing new ones to ensure Business and Operational Requirements are met. The Senior Analyst will also help prepare and monitor aspects of budgeting and forecasting.

The Senior Analyst will report to the Manager of Business Operations and Analytics.

Responsibilities

Performs analysis, requirement gathering, data analytics, and report preparation related to ongoing business and operations, processes, and services.

Contributes to the development of  business optimization strategies for assigned projects related to key business and supply chain services.

Reviews and updates business and operational metrics, dashboards, and reports; alerts management to key trends.

Assists with various financial and budgetary activities, including fees, forecasts and variance analysis, pricing, etc.

Researches and analyzes data to create reports, and may create other reports for grants and contracts.

Responsible for training office staff on office procedures and compliance protocols. Coordinates special projects.

Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.


Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Analytics or a Business-related field.

Technical Knowledge or Skills:

Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, Business Intelligence tools (i.e. PowerBI, Informer) and CRM systems (i.e. Salesforce).

Familiarity with supply chain and distribution systems.
