The Senior Administrative Assistant will support two lines of business within Group Benefits at The Hartford. The Group Benefits Priority Business and Group Reinsurance Plus organizations operated in a dynamic, matrix environment with strong Executive Leadership visibility. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support-related tasks and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting executive leaders within a complex financial services organization. This position will directly support two Vice Presidents while participating in ad hoc projects and events that enable the success of their senior leadership teams (i.e. activities supporting office culture like the Fun at Work Committee, event management, meeting planning etc.).
The ability to interact with individuals (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equally important. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks.
Responsibilities:
Candidate must be fully capable of communicating effectively with internal and external constituents Effectively manage calendar of appointments by scheduling requests for travel and meetings using appropriate prioritization and decision-making skills to resolve potential schedule conflicts. Ensure timely submission of all expense reports, in accordance with company policy. Exceptional customer service skills and proven ability to form networks of individual relationships spanning multiple business units across a large and dispersed organization. Mature and sophisticated approach to information security, data privacy and confidentiality with the utmost judgment and tact, recognizing any time constraints and implications. Must understand or be able to develop an understanding of the complex matrix of different levels of required confidentiality and how they differ from person to person and role to role. Create, prepare and edit presentation materials, including PowerPoint presentations. Produce ad hoc reports and manage special projects (outline project needs, work with various groups to acquire necessary data, provide analysis and recommendations) adapt procedures, processes and techniques to the completion of assignments and in line with the department's activities and goals. Initiate timely response to emails, voicemails, and written correspondence Exercise independent judgment, escalating only serious or unique problems to higher levels. Maintain up to date knowledge of hardware and software enhancements on company systems; create and maintain distribution lists, acts as Workday, Concur, and Outlook (or other company systems) proxy or delegate for executives. Schedule and coordinate new hire onboarding, role changes, and application access. Create & maintain department distribution lists, active directories and organizational charts. Compile & distribute newsletters and other standard communications to employees, customer and clients using appropriate distribution lists. Coordinate internal and external meetings to include Town Halls, on/off site meetings and agency visits. Office management to include the ordering of supplies, being a resource and delegate for Workday, administration of security badge and parking requests, handling mail, deliveries and shipping within the office, coordination of conference rooms, printer management, office kitchen and working with vendors on maintenance issues. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of accomplishment as a Senior Administrative Assistant and a minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting executives or other relevant experience. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products, including how to use these products to effectively execute on responsibilities (Outlook, Teams, Share point, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams, Concur Expense Mgmt). Bachelors or Associates degree is preferred, but not necessary. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. A team player with excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, and mastery in planning and organization. Excellent calendar management skills, including the coordination of complex executive meetings. Individual must possess a high level of initiative and be a self-starter, self-directed, highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be detail-oriented and able to work on multiple assignments simultaneously. Efficiency and ability to prioritize are essential. Strong understanding of business requirements.This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
