Position Summary:
The Senior Acquisition and Integration Manager is a key full-time HR role. Reporting to the Senior Director, Colleague Success Business Partner, its purpose is to lead the HR related aspects of our acquisition and integration activity through a combination of collaboration with teams across Bentley and direct hands-on execution of tactical process.
This colleague will work hand in hand with Bentley's M&A and other functional teams within and outside Colleague Success, and will be a central point of contact for all HR related topics related to acquisition activity, from the exploratory phase to post-acquisition integration. Pre acquisition, this colleague will be responsible for collecting, interpreting and producing all necessary documentation, as well as engaging all necessary functional colleagues and leaders as necessary. Post acquisition, the Senior A&I Manager will ensure excellent integration and colleague experience on a consistent basis, thanks to the application of proven best practices.
We are looking for an experienced professional that can own, strategize and execute in a complex corporate environment, who enjoys the varied, multi-faceted and often fast-paced and deadline-driven nature of this job. Being results driven, highly proactive and with a can-do attitude will be key traits to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities:
Create excellent colleague experience and facilitate colleague success stories for colleagues joining Bentley through acquisition and serve as overall Colleague Success owner of M&A for all of Bentley and its subsidiaries.
Lead due diligence process for Colleague Success team. This includes partnering with the Portfolio Development team, internal product / business team, and Colleague Success Business Partner or HR leader to support effective planning of the overall new team structure for the onboarding of new colleagues and any impact to existing colleagues, providing guidance to sellers on the Bentley specific processes, roles, and responsibilities, completing audit of data, seller policies, procedures, templates, contracts, etc., identifying and resolving discrepancies, and working with other teams at Bentley where needed.
Determine Bentley offerings working in partnership with relevant parties including job mapping into our Job Architecture, contract harmonization, cost center validation, sales targets and incentive structure, benefits, retention bonuses, and compensation offerings. Make recommendations to business and Colleague Success leaders, and sellers.
Lead integration process from Colleague Success side, including but not limited to – representing Colleague Success in unification meetings, orientation/ welcome to Bentley presentation, transition planning workshops, introductions to other relevant teams, representing acquired colleagues where needed with conflicts and issues, connecting to relevant resources, query solving etc. for at least one year after acquisition close.
Develop acquisition playbooks, guides and templates to support internal and acquired teams through the acquisition and integration processes.
Partner closely with other teams at Bentley inside and outside Colleague Success in due diligence and integration process as appropriate, including but not limited to shared services, technology, rewards, colleague relations and colleague experience teams within Colleague Success; and Legal and Compliance, Finance, Digital Experience, and Immigration for a smooth and frictionless onboarding and integration experience for both acquired colleagues and existing teams.
Handle the approvals operational HR aspects of the joining of colleagues, including offer letters, contracts, retention letters, e-folders, etc. Once properly executed, hand over to Colleague Services teams.
Introduce acquired colleagues to Colleague Success teams, key colleague processes and other self-service tools and resources as part of a dedicated onboarding program. Complete quarterly check-ins one year after hand-over to ensure integration is successful.
Deliver an exceptional colleague experience through simplifying experiences, identifying and implementing areas for improvement, creating, and leveraging templates, and utilizing technology.
Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).
Requirements:
5-7 years of experience in human resources / employee relations.
3-5 years of experience in acquisitions and integration.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other diverse functional teams across the company, including business leaders at all levels.
Effective influencing skills to provide resolution of complex and highly sensitive acquisition matters.
Solid project management skills. Ability to handle multiple acquisition projects simultaneously.
Basic knowledge of legislative and employment requirements, and ability to connect with country specific Colleague Relation team.
Ability to use sound judgment to problem solve and involve necessary individuals at the appropriate time to drive success.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Willingness to travel internationally and domestically as needed.
Demonstrated success driving process improvements.
