Senior Accountant- Revenue Recognition Type of Position Full time Search Location(s) Manhattan, NY Apply Now (https://phe.tbe.taleo.net/phe03/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=CPOFNYS&cws=37&rid=6406) Job Brief Responsible for revenue recognition for all Medicaid fee for service and Third Party payor programs, Accounts Receivable account analysis, cash receipt posting, journal entries, and special projects. Shift Worked: 9:00AM - 5:00PM Weekly Hours: 37.5 FLSA Status: Exempt Pay range: $80,000 - $80,000 POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for revenue recognition for all Medicaid fee for service and Third Party payor programs, Accounts Receivable account analysis, cash receipt posting, journal entries, and special projects. B. POSITION DUTIES: 1. Monthly revenue recognition for OPWDD fee for service programs including but not limited to IRA, ICF, Day Habilitation and clinic programs. 2. Prepare monthly reconciliation of AR aging reports to Control AR account in general ledger. 3. Posting of Medicaid, Medicare and third-party managed care cash receipts 4. Review outstanding receivables to determine the likelihood of collections to determine if allowance or write off is necessary 5. Reconciliation of allowance for doubtful accounts. 6. Work closely with Billing department to ensure that all services provided are billed and recorded. 7. In depth knowledge of Medicaid compliance rules and regulations. 8. Preparation and data entry of journal entries via uploads. 9. Preparation of annual audit lead schedules for outside auditors. 10. Performs all other duties as assigned. C. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting. 2. 2 plus years in revenue recognition experience 3. Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP’s, Pivot tables and IF functions). 4. Knowledge of Oracle Accounting Software a (plus). 5. Experience with Medicaid billing software required: experience with Millan a plus 6. Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency’s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews.
