Senior Accountant (AP/AR)
Description The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by ensuring accurate and timely accounting processes and supporting compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Receivable (AR): + Oversee the full AR cycle, including invoice generation, collections, and proper recording of cash receipts. + Reconcile AR sub-ledgers to the General Ledger. Accounts Payable (AP): + Manage the full AP cycle, from vendor invoice processing to timely payments. + Ensure compliance with company policies and approvals for all disbursements. General Ledger (GL): + Maintain the General Ledger and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. + Reconcile GL accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly. Journal Entries: + Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications. + Ensure proper documentation and accuracy for audit purposes. Month-End, Quarterly, and Year-End Closings: + Perform and oversee closing activities, including account reconciliations, variance analyses, and preparation of financial statements. + Assist with compliance reporting and audits as requested. Reporting and Analysis: + Ensure accurate and timely preparation of periodic financial reports. + Provide insights into accounts and financial trends to management as necessary. Software Expertise: + Utilize ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, Workday) and advanced Excel features (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Macros) for efficient accounting processes. + Suggest process improvements and system enhancements to streamline operations. Compliance and Internal Controls: + Adhere to and enforce compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. + Ensure accurate documentation and internal controls to meet audit standards. Requirements Qualifications: + Education: + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent work experience (3-5 year required, minimum) + CPA or relevant certification preferred but not mandatory. Role Requirements: + 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting/finance experience in a large company environment. + In-depth familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and advanced accounting processes. + Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. + Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently. + Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing solutions. + Ability to work in an on-site or hybrid environment consistently and as needed Technical Skills: + Proficiency in NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or Workday. + Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and Macros. + Knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance is highly desirable.
