Job Description

The Senior Accountant will play a key role on the Peacock and NBCU Direct-to-Consumer controllership team. The position will report to the Director, Accounting, and will work closely with the Direct-to-Consumer finance team and collaborate with Controllership across the NBCUniversal portfolio.    

This position will support the monthly close and the overall accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.  The role will support the (i) standardization of existing processes with the rest of NBCU’s TV & Streaming group, (ii) identification of business process efficiencies, and (iii) implementation of best practices.  This position is expected to challenge the status quo and think of more enhanced approaches and methodologies to support Peacock’s overall close and control structure.  

Responsibilities:

Prepare and record accurate and timely journal entries within SAPAssist with month-end and quarter-end accounting close to ensure deadlines are met and all items are recordedAssemble monthly balance sheet account reconciliations in BlacklinePartner with Manager to account for CIP and Fixed Assets by creating projects, placing assets into service, and ensuring depreciation expense and ending balances are accurately recordedPartnering with UK finance team to verify monthly cost transfers, intercompany elimination, transfer pricing and invoice generation for cash settlementWork alongside Finance to summarize billing data for platform revenues and generate invoices within SAPForeign currency impact and analysis, specifically between GBP and USDFinance support for cost analysis, including financial walks, what-if scenarios and other ad-hoc requestsSupport the Direct-to-Consumer finance team in all planning processes, including Long Range Planning, Annual Budgets and Operator ReviewsSupport business process by partnering with other departments, including but not limited to FP&A, Accounts payable, treasury, tax, human resources, IT, and legalSupport ad hoc data requests, deliverables and other controllership deadlinesContinually improve business processes through automation, thoughtful analysis and researching or benchmarking best practices inside and outside of the companyAssist process owners in documentation of SOX controls

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in Accounting3+ years of accounting experience; CPA or on trackPublic accounting experienced preferredProven ability to work independently, execute well, and thrive in a fast-paced environment Detail oriented and a quick learnerCommunicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writingAbility to think critically and research ad hoc accounting issuesProblem solving skills, ability to dig into problems and drive resolutionsStrong analytical skillsAdvanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
