We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant with a strong background in payroll, GL reconciliation, cash receipt posting, and bank reconciliation in a government contracting environment to support our Financial Management team.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).Oversee the month-end closing process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure integrity in the general ledger.Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring that documentation and procedures are in compliance with regulations.Perform financial analysis and variance reporting on monthly, quarterly, and annual performance.Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Monitor and analyze contract revenue and expenses for variances.Review and analyze actual contract performance against budgets and forecasts.Prepare bank reconciliation and record cash receipts.Manage the calculation of indirect rates and overhead allocations.Establish, document, and maintain internal controls related to government contracts.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.Ensure compliance with government regulations (e.g., FAR, CAS, DCAA). Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably with a government contract industry background.In-depth knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA regulations, and GAAP.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience with financial systems, such as Deltek Costpoint or similar government contract accounting software.Excellent communication and organizational skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong sense of ethics and integrity.
