To Be Successful:  A successful Senor Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and accounting transactions. This position will collaborate with and be supported by a team of accountants. 

The Role: The Senior Accountant role will directly report to the Director, Accounting Operations. This position is expected to have a strong sense of ownership, ability to identify process improvement opportunities, and have an excellent knowledge of GAAP. The accountant’s responsibilities include reconciling account balances, maintaining the general ledger, performing month-end closing procedures, assisting in quarterly reviews, and the annual audit.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile general ledger activitiesPerform standard accounting duties such as recording transactions to the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and produce financial reportsPerform analytical review on assigned income statement accountsProvide accounting support to assigned pharmacy locationsAnalyze accounting results and proactively seek to resolve discrepancies or variances.Provide ideas to improve efficiency and accuracyReview and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiencyEffectively manage multiple projects and objectives simultaneously in a deadline driven environmentAssist with external audits and quarterly reviewsSupport month-end and quarter-end close processesDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in accounting is requiredMAcc or MBA (preferred, not required)CPA or CPA track preferred

Skills and Qualifications:

3 - 7 years of accounting experience showing increasing responsibilities2+ years of experience performing variance analysisLarge company industry experience is preferredFlexible and able to quickly adapt to new systems and the changing needs of a growing businessAbility to work independently and deliver to deadlines
