Senior Accountant

Job Description:

The Senior Accountant will provide analytical and strategic support to the Plant Controller and other Operations Management of the Cleveland, NC plant.  The primary duties of this position include performance of monthly financial close tasks, financial forecasting and analysis, managing the company’s specific financial KPIs, providing analytical support to the Plant Controller to identifying areas of opportunity to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. The Senior Accountant will also assist in enforcing a strong internal control environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide analytical support to Plant Controller, managing KPI's, performing cost analysis, etc.Update and publish daily KPI reports.Assist in monthly financial close (journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement analysis, management reporting)Assist with preparation of Annual Operating Plan and monthly forecasting.Track progress in the operational excellence incentive program and maintain payout accruals.Track and forecast all cost savings projectsWork with supply chain team on inventory analysis and initiatives and coordination of physical inventory.Assist in enforcing all internal controls as well as assisting with all external and internal audits.Assist operational excellence initiatives by providing analytical support when applicable, as well as participate in various lean events.

Required Skills:

Knowledge of GAAP accounting and automated accounting systems.Ability to perform, manage and/or direct multiple tasks and determine priorities.Outstanding PC/Systems knowledge and skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees, customers and outside professionals.Experience in dealing with complex accounting situations, maintaining quality standards, product development, technical specifications, and project management.Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and cost accounting a plus.Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; acts with customers in mind; establishes and maintains effective working relationships.Ability to gain and maintain the trust and respect of teammates and others by building relationships.Applies and improves extensive or in-depth specialized knowledge, skills, and judgment to accomplish a result or to accomplish one's job effectively. Required Education/Experience:

5 – 7 years of experience in all aspects of manufacturing accounting.Bachelor’s degree in accounting or financeExcellent Excel Skills

Preferred:

JDE E1 or similar ERP experienceMaster’s Degree or CPALean/Six Sigma Experience
