**Description**
Medical Associates Health Plans is hiring a **Senior Account Executive** to join our Hutchinson, KS Sales team!
**The Company:**
Medical Associates Health Plans has launched the Central Plains Physician Health Plan (CPPHP). CPPHP offers insurance products designed to encourage the use of local providers and facilities to further coordinate care for the benefit of the community.
**The Position:**
The CPPHP Account Executive will lead sales and retention in the Hutchinson, Kansas market for the new CPPHP. Responsible for establishing CPPHP in the market and leading the sales and initial customer retention for Commercial Products, both Fully and Self-Insured. Working in partnership with the Hutchinson Clinic leadership and the Medical Associates Health Plan team to identify key target customers and brokers, community connections, and other activities to build out the CPPHP brand and sell business.

**Travel and Schedule:** Travel required to designated cities in Kansas up to 50% of time (estimating ~30% day trips, ~10% overnight). You must be flexible with your schedule to reach your goals and will be responsible for scheduling meetings and travel logistics.
**Training:** Comprehensive training and orientation would take place during the first two weeks, then have ongoing support via team calls.
**Essential Functions & Responsibilities:**
Sales:
1. Build out a detailed sales plan, in collaboration with the Hutchinson Clinic and MAHP leadership to further establish CPPHP as a Commercial Health Plan brand in the Hutchinson Kansas market for employer groups.
2. Execute the plan, face-face in the market performing direct prospecting, working with independent health insurance brokers and consultants, and other key business and community leaders.
3. Establish initial sales goals, track progress, and refine as new information is learned.
4. Build out CPPHP track in Sales Force, including quickly and accurately documenting all activities in the system.
5. Develop and deliver informational and educational sales meetings with prospects including the delivery of compelling and professional presentations demonstrating the value of CPPHP and engaging others across Hutchinson Clinic and MAHP as needed to win.
6. Partner with MAHP marketing team to lead events and other activities as needed, identify and share opportunities for marketing as they surface, (billboards, sports event logos, radio, events, etc.)
7. Respond to RFPs and related sales requests, positioning CPPHP to win business.
8. Collaborate with the MAHP UW team to ensure quotes are competitive.
9. Participate in the implementation and onboarding of new groups until they can be effectively handed off to Account team.
10. Identify opportunities to advance products and model in the market to win business and work with MAHP and Hutchinson Clinic team to develop.
Account Retention:
Determine when it is appropriate to hand off new groups to the broader MAHP team. In some cases, as the brand gets built out, it may make sense for the Sales Exec to maintain the face of the relationship while working with the MAHP team behind the scenes to ensure the group is supported.
Community Involvement:
Represent CPPHP in the broader Hutchinson Community through involvement in associations, nonprofits, and other community organizations and activities. Join or serve on at least two community organization/non-profit boards. Participate in at least a monthly community activity or function.
Market Lead:
Represent CPPHP in sales and other MAHP related meetings/projects to ensure strategy and materials align with the Hutchinson market needs. Report barriers to selling and work with the team to identify solutions. Work with marketing to develop sales campaigns, events, or other needed material to accelerate brand recognition and sales.
Complete all other assigned projects and duties.
**Knowledge and Skills:**
Experience A minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development and healthcare sales required. Possess healthcare knowledge, including understanding of health insurance concepts, employee benefits and medical terminology. Experience in the Hutchinson or broader Kansas market preferred. Managed care experience a plus.
Education Bachelor’s Degree with course work in sales, marketing, business administration, or related area or equivalent experience.
Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact and knowledge of personal or financial situations requiring significant sensitivity and confidentiality. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. The position is onsite in Hutchinson Kansas which is remote from the support and leadership team in Iowa. Requiring the ability to direct and work successfully in both onsite and virtual settings.

**Physical Aspects:**

Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
