The opportunity
This opportunity is an ideal role for an individual who wants to directly contribute to EY’s global organization. The role will be part of the Global RM Independence team responsible for supporting our partners and client facing professionals to ensure that their personal investments and relationships comply with the firm’s Independence policies and the rules and regulations imposed by external regulatory bodies (e.g., PCAOB, IESBA, US SEC, etc.)

We are looking for professionals, interested in Risk Management, to join global Risk Management. You will build your professional knowledge and credentials, learn how EY operates globally and work with some of the most senior partners.
Your key responsibilities
This role requires you to become the subject matter expert on Independence issues and be the first point of contact for client facing teams. Other responsibilities include evaluating issues and producing deliverables to document the diligence with which such tasks were performed, as the work performed by you is subject to review and scrutiny by external regulators. You will be required to do interactions with the executive level members in client facing teams.
Your Responsibilities:
Your role will include interpreting GDS policies, performing compliance checks/audits and determining required actions and making recommendations based on the firm guidance. You would be required to develop subject matter expertise on Independence issues. Understand clients’ business and requirements, Service Level Agreement (SLA) of the process and quality parameters. Acts as a liaison between the client teams, other members of the RMS team, and various functional areas within the firm. Regular client connects and driving exceptional client service. Plans and organizes own work and keeps others informed of status and activities. Provide feedback required to continuously improve processes. Formulates answers to client questions. Build positive work culture which fosters teamwork and helps delivering high quality outputs. Be a technical guide to your team members and provide mentoring as required.
Skills and attributes for success
Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Good analytical thinking / ability to take decisions. Strong domain knowledge of various products of financial markets and understands financial terms. Should be fluent in Mandarin & English both. Demonstrate professionalism, industry competence and clarity of communication when dealing with the Onshore teams. Should have People and Project management skills. The candidate should be comfortable working in an unstructured & complex environment requiring out of box thinking, logical reasoning. Ability to learn and understand the EY’s Risk Management policies as well as familiarity with other Risk Management initiatives outside of area of expertise. Ability to keep confidential sensitive information. Interest in working with a culturally diverse team from around the globe to design, develop, and deploy programs and share knowledge. Team player and active listener with the ability to respond to and develop the ideas of others.
To qualify for the role, you must have
Good understanding and experience of handling projects independently or working in a team-oriented environment. University graduate with 3-5 years of experience. Good academic background. Advanced MS office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Candidates with people management / project handling experience would be preferred. Candidates with exposure to client interaction would be preferred. Candidates with good command on both Mandarin and English would be preferred.
