Senior, Financial Systems - Tax Technology - Internal Firm Tax Team
Overview Deloitte Services LP includes internal support areas such as Finance and Administration, Talent, Information Technology, Marketing and Communications, and Facilities Management. This Senior Finance Developer role is part of our internal US Firms Tax ("USFT") team which is a subset of our Finance and Administration group. The USFT team is responsible for setting the tax policy for the Deloitte US Firms in the US and other countries where it has operations, as well as for all the domestic and foreign compliance for the Deloitte US Firms' entities. About the Team The Internal Technology Tax team is responsible for the design, evaluation and implementation of manual and automated financial systems relating specifically to USFT, acting as a liaison between the Information Technology Services teams, various USFT team, other Finance and Administration teams, and our advisors. This team relays our business strategy into technical requirements and manages the execution and timeline of system changes. The team works remotely and from business hubs in Atlanta, Houston, Dallas and Nashville/Hermitage. Job Overview & Key Relationships: As a Senior Finance Developer - Internal Tax Technology, you will be responsible assisting in the design, requirement gathering, testing, implementation, and maintenance of various technologies that enhance the reporting requirements of compliance and strategic planning for the USFT team. Core responsibilities include assisting with technology that produces various federal and state tax data and computes allocations of partnership income, and resolving system issues to ensure accuracy. You will be part of a team that provides an integrated approach to tax technology systems implementations that help our internal tax function maximize the strategic value to Deloitte. Job Responsibilities: + Assist with managing the operations and maintenance of USFT systems. + Identify and recommend needed process improvements and analyze system design alternatives for new systems and improvements to existing systems; provide insight on the development of systems upgrades or redesigns. + Assist with project management tasks, such as creating workplans, preparing status reports, monitoring adherence to deadlines, and participating in status calls. + Provide training and tax software support around day-to-day activities, tax law or situational changes. + Assist in the preparation of the US Firms' federal, state, and local income tax returns, including composite nonresident income tax returns and the reporting of certain partner-related information. + Assist with the production and distribution of annual partner K-1 packages including allocations of income, deduction and separate stated items to US Firms partners. + Assist with implementation of any system changes required as a result of federal, state, or local tax related legislation. + Make recommendations on business and process improvements related to US Firms tax matters. Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, information systems, technology, data analytics or related field required, with a strong preference for accounting and STEM dual degree. + Demonstrated interest in an aptitude for technology + Three (3) + years of prior experience. + Excellent communication skills. + Knowledge of federal and state partnership tax compliance, tax research, and tax planning. + Understanding of partner-level income allocations. + Proficient in Excel. + Proficient in SQL Microsoft Management Studio + Proficient in Microsoft Power BI + Proficient in Alteryx + Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. Preferred Qualifications: + Advanced degree. + Experience in a professional services firm, tax software firm, or equivalent. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $ 69,400 - $127,900. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
