Semiconductor Technology & Strategy Lead
Overview We are seeking a full-time Semiconductor Technology and Strategy Leader in our Olathe, KS location. This is a crucial role where you will have ownership to create and drive Garmin strategy for semiconductors. Working across different Garmin businesses, you will guide the engineering teams and set up decisions that directly impact our product’s competitiveness and fundamental success. A new challenge every day. There will be regular exposure to executives within Garmin and with our key suppliers, along with access to cutting edge technology from around the globe. You will team with our engineers to vet the options and create strategies that make a real difference in our success. Essential Functions Create and deploy a semiconductor strategy for Garmin's product teams including Fitness, Consumer Auto, Outdoor and Marine Manage relationships through supplier engagement and assessment as well as segment communication, coordination, alignment and knowledge management Find revolutionary new technologies and stay abreast of Garmin's needs Serve as the semiconductor interface to the Executive team Drive technology through research, evaluation, and validation of new suppliers/components to deliver evolutionary improvements Develop existing relationships and initiate dialogue with new suppliers Advocate with suppliers for the development of solutions that solve our technical challenges Travel (10% or less) Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or related field AND a minimum of 7 years relevant experience in the component technology industries Demonstrated success in working business deals and negotiations as well as strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must possess the ability to lead and sell strategies across Garmin business segments Demonstrated knowledge of Garmin’s overall product line and customers Desired Qualifications Experience in similar role, with a background in technical marketing or technical sales, field applications, or system engineering Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
