We’re hiring for seed quality testing Intern for a 12 month learnership

You should not have participated in another learnership or internship.You should not have more than 1 year of work experience.You should not be permanently employed.You should be between 21-28 years of ageAs seed quality testing intern, you will be responsible for:
Laboratory Activities: Conduct lab activities in accordance with applicable standards, procedures, policies, regulations and customer specifications, plans and work instructions, ISO and any other protocols or steps for conducting tests governing lab testing. Assist in internal and external audits. Assure testing protocols are applied. Testing Data: Maintains necessary documentation and quality records to provide evidence that standards, plans and procedures are being followed. Enters daily testing information into system in a timely and accurate manner. Communication: Communicates non-standard test results relating to quality, testing, equipment to supervisor, coordinator or manager. Maintains reference samples and standards used in testing. Technical Assistance: Supervises or assist coordinator to supervise activities related to specific area of testing, sample preparation, conducting tests and data input. Works with logistics in coordinating receiving of samples and preparing them for testing. General: Ability to fulfill general employment expectations including regular attendance and working specified hours or overtime as defined by supervisor, acceptance of supervision, getting along with other in the workplace, maintaining acceptable standards of office conduct.
You Will Be Part of Growing Team
You will be part of the Rosslyn laboratory Centlab team, the lab’s objective is to provide reliable, accurate and repeatable seed quality test results on time to our stakeholders. This objective is carried through by conducting specialized product tests such as seed sizing, germination test, vigour test and purity test. Monitor testing to ensure testing protocols, steps for conducting tests, are applied in order to adhere to policies , procedures, business objectives, regulations, ISTA standards, ISO standards and guidelines.
Your Challenge:

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need
Technical diploma/degree preferred. Ideal – Seed Science Course ( Seed Physiology) Ideal – Practical Course with DARLD ( Agronomic crops and grasses)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Computer proficiencyStrong communication skills in teaching techniques, evaluating results, arranging and following up on schedules across a broad variety of internal audiences.Accreditations specific to testing area(s) preferred.Ability to lift up to ( ˭ 27 Kilograms)Ability to operate specialized laboratory equipmentAbility to stand/sit for extended periodsAbility to work in an environment containing mould, dust and treatment fumesAbility to supervise testing conducted by othersWillingness to assist and train less experienced assistance on targeted testing or other skillsAbility to understand and follow standard company testing rules and procedures and to learn and accept new and additional skills or work assignment.Ability to cooperate with other in testing and operations functions.Who Are We Looking For?
