Seed Production Research Seeds Process Engineer Intern

You Will:

Accountability that all tasks and activities assigned are executed according to the Company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.  Safety is Syngenta’s first priorityDevelop a knowledgeable understanding of Hybrid Seed Production  with focus on process engineering improvements and innovation within Seeds Production ResearchUtilize innovative agriculture technologies and tools to drive efficiencies at  conditioning plants and seed labsEncourage environment for creative thinking on process improvement in all aspects of Seeds Production ResearchLead and own responsibility of assigned projects and learning project management skills. Focus areas can include seed drying, handling, sorting, treating, packaging and equipment testing for new technologiesSupport of our internal trials and promoting data driven decisions with data analysis and statisticsDevelopment of strong communication skills and visual management tools to promote concise and productive communicationBuild a better understanding of the end-to-end seeds business through exposure/tours of other functionsSkills developed throughout internship will culminate with a final report and presentation to key stakeholders and management of assigned trialAssist with design and exploration of various optical tools for seed quality analysis, troubleshooting, and productivity improvements.

To support that challenge, the Production & Supply team is currently seeking a Seed Production Research Seeds Process Engineer Intern, located in Slater, Iowa. As an intern, you will be responsible for designing experiments, field and lab preparation, routine maintenance, and data analysis. You will be provided the opportunity of being exposed to research activities, allowing you to apply academic background and ultimately be exposed to both Production & Supply and Research & Development at Syngenta.

Qualifications
Requires a High School diploma or equivalentMust be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Biology, Ag Business, Precision Agriculture, Ag Mechanized Systems, Ag Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or another closely related field of study with a graduation date on or after December 2025Must be a current student continuing education upon completion of internship termMust have a valid Driver's LicenseAll applicants must be eligible to work in the US

Additional Knowledge, Skills, Traits & Abilities:

High level of communication (oral and/or written) is extremely important to keep team organized and ensuring high quality project executionAttention to detail, and agility to adjust plans and execute accordinglyIndependent, self-motivated, driven, and customer focused individual able to produce high quality dataExperience in Agriculture and/or Process Engineering is preferred but not required
