Summary About the Position: Security Manager for the Integrated Joint Technical Operations (IJSTO) Branch, Operations and Technology Division, Headquarters Department of Army (HQDA), G-3/5/7, reporting directly to the IJSTO Branch Chief. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 2 years position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years and may be made permanent without further competition. (See additional Information Section for more on this.) Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects of security disciplines to protect the organizations IJSTO mission. Develops and administers a security education and training program to include the unit's support plan that assures all unit members are knowledgeable of applicable policies and procedures. Processes requests for clearances, manages the Special Access Program (SAP) Access Roster and Request for Access and administers SAP debriefs and briefings. Responsible for physical security. Serves as the Command authority for the implementation of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) SAP concepts to the construction, operation, and administration of formally established SCI SAP facilities. Responsible for Top Secret (TS) Document Control. Responsible for managing and administering the unit’s substantive TS Document inventory in accordance with published policies, guidance and directives. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviews, analyzes, and resolves special security problems relating to personnel and physical security disciplines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. This position MAY be eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework". This position is a TERM Not to Exceed Two years position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
