The university is currently seeking qualified individuals to serve as part time Security Officers on the Campus Safety and Security team. These positions will work approximately 20 hours per week with variable shifts that will mostly be nights and weekends. Duties to include: following established rounds, monitoring security radio, enforcing parking regulations, opening and closing buildings and monitoring their mechanical operations, assisting police and fire depts. with any on campus incidents, writing security reports, and responding to service/emergency calls as needed. Occasional general light maintenance (changing light bulbs, changing smoke detector batteries, shoveling snow, etc.) will also be required. Hours will vary, but will primarily be nights and weekends. Position requires extensive walking in and outdoors in all weather conditions. Requirements: H.S. diploma, knowledge of procedures involved in building and grounds security work, valid drivers license, and strong customer service/communication skills. Direct experience in security and CPR, AED, first aid, or first responder certification preferred. (A criminal history background check will be completed prior to hire).
