The Security Access Control Officer is an armed employee that is responsible for safeguarding the well-being and assets of employees, guests, and the Wynn Las Vegas property at all times. Security Access Control Officers must adhere to all company policies, procedures, while upholding the Forbes Five-Star service standards and the Wynn Core Values and Behaviors. The primary responsibilities include screening all individual and items at back-of-house entrance points, reporting any suspicious occurrences and assisting with any security threats or emergencies.
Essential Duties
Will conduct quarterly proficiency and development training, including a firearms training and qualifications and close quarter combat training.Responsible for safety of Executive Personnel when assigned to the Wynn Executive Office post or during crisis response.Conduct a visual inspection of every individual and item entering their vicinity for potential threats. Monitor magnetometer (or handheld magnetometer) for the presence of metal, indicating possible weapons to include knives, electronic devices (such as Tasers), and firearms. Screen carry in items by conducting a physical search of bags and items inbound and outbound, observe to detect weapons or contraband; confiscate restricted items when necessary or conduct appropriate check in process.Maintain a good state of security in area of operation and report any security violations to management and Security Communications Center (SCC); request additional security support as needed.Provide medical assistance, to any employee or guest, in accordance with their medical training, until proper First Responders arrive and take control of the emergency.Monitor employee badge system, while employees “scan-in” to property; respond and report to management when unauthorized individuals attempt to gain access to the Back of House (BOH) area.Request escort assistance for any unauthorized personnel to gain access to BOH when approved by higher management.Investigate and provide support for the “Lost and Found” items that may be retrieved by guest at security podiums.Maintain shift activity logs and pass on pertinent information or information pertaining to ongoing incidents to the relieving officer at the completion of post.May be required to assist civil and law enforcement authorities in administrative proceedings and provide voluntary statements, in reference to involved incidents, up to and including testimony in court.Appropriately document all incidents, in accordance with the security department guidelines, to include voluntary statements and department specific incident/reporting requirements.Greet all guests and employees in a courteous and professional manner.Facilitate guest requests and complaints, in accordance with their assigned duties; request support as needed when unable to immediately assist.Remain in compliance with all Wynn policies and procedures and department specific guidelines.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will currently possess a Nevada Carrying Concealed Weapon (CCW) permit or a HR 218 (law Enforcement Officer Safety Act) card. Candidates who do not currently hold either of the certifications must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada CCW or HR 218 within six months of their hire date. Once obtained, the CCW or HR 218 certification must not expire.Must be able to obtain and possess a valid Nevada Gaming Registration, an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES), First Aid and CPR certifications.Must successfully pass a quarterly range evaluation and demonstrate safe firearms handling procedures and proficiency during required training/qualifications.Two years of previous armed security experience preferred, but not required.Must acquire a valid Nevada Driver's License upon employment.Successfully pass a psychological evaluation that will be referred by the company.Must be 21 years of age or older.High school graduate or equivalent is required, college graduate preferred.Ability to work alone and within a team environment.Ability to communicate in English fluently and professionally. Additional languages arewelcomed.Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, along with a working knowledge of basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook email, etc.).Must be able to respond in a controlled demeanor during stressful incidents and potential crisis situations.Must be able to remember and depict details of incidents in written and oral format.Training standards include use of force, firearms application, defensive tactics, mechanical restraints, search procedures, expandable baton, crisis, and emergency response.Additional Information
