GENERAL PURPOSE

This is a part-time, entry-level Security Officer position. Duties may include: foot and vehicle patrols of multiple buildings to ensure the safety and security of MillerKnoll team members, guests and property against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry and other hazards. May answer all phone calls for Security service from all over the world, dispatching patrol officers, and dealing with all alarms at all facilities, utilizing the CCTV System and monitoring the access control system. The officer will act as a liaison between MillerKnoll and outside agencies including law enforcement and fire departments. Officers will also investigate and report suspicious or unusual occurrences, assist in hazardous response and provide first aid. The works hours required for this role are: Friday: 11pm - 5:30am; Saturday: 5:30pm - 5:30am; Sunday: 5:30pm - 11:30pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Accurately and quickly utilize computer-aided software for complaint documentation and dispatching.

Be service centric while also being able to effectively enforce MillerKnoll policies and procedures tactfully, always representing MillerKnoll in a professional manner.

Monitoring, operating, testing, and data entry responsibility for a variety of computerized and electronic equipment used in access control, fire, and security systems.

Possess initiative and strong situational awareness with balanced and sound judgment.

Prepare reports, activity logs, and communicate the information as needed.

Protect sensitive company and team member information.

Reads, understands, communicates, and interprets written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies, and practices, safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions and reports, which are written in the English language.

Regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.

Respond to medical, fire and other site emergencies.

Use resources provided to make decisions without direct supervision.

Work in a team environment while completing projects as requested to achieve business objectives.

Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency.

Must be willing to work the following part-time shift each week: Friday: 11pm - 5:30am; Saturday: 5:30pm - 5:30am; Sunday: 5:30pm - 11:30pm

Prior public safety, Military, or related job experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

First aid/CPR/AED certification, or ability to certify within 30 days of hire.

Skills and Abilities

Requires ability to interact with personnel at all levels within the corporation, outside agencies and the general public in a friendly, positive, and professional manner.

Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation and communication software and tools currently used in the HMI office environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner.

Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to manage multiple job duties while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality.

Must have the ability to prioritize decisions based upon multiple criteria and identifiable standards of policies and procedures, and work independently with little or no supervision.

May be regularly required to stand or sit for extended periods, walk long distances, use hands to handle, hold or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with arms, and talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to hear conversations in noisy environments.
